full submission guidelines

please read these carefully

general ground rules

✶ LABYRINTHINE is a publication of weird, wild work. We specifically seek pieces in the realm of GOTHIC, NEW WEIRD, and EXPERIMENTAL. Nothing is too bizarre for us; the stranger, the better!

✶ While our magazine is based in Ireland, we accept submissions worldwide.

✶ Though our chosen genres often involve grotesque and unorthodox themes, we do not publish gratuitous depictions of violence, self-harm, sexual assault, or other triggering subject matter.

✶ Pieces promoting bigotry and discrimination will not be published, nor tolerated.

✶ We do not accept AI-generated content of any kind.

✶ We cannot pay our contributors at this time, but submission will always be free.

submission rules

✶ You may submit one submission form per publication cycle.

✶ While simultaneous submissions are allowed, let us know via email if your work is accepted elsewhere.

✶ We do not accept previously published work (excluding personally, i.e. self-publication, Substack blog, portfolio entries).

✶ Submission close at 11:59 p.m. GMT on the cycle's closing date.

✶ Decision emails will be sent one month after the closing date, though some may arrive sooner.

✶ If your work was accepted last cycle, please wait to submit again unless you are submitting a different category (i.e. if your poetry was published last cycle, you may submit prose, artwork, and/or hybrid instead this cycle).

please note

✶ All submissions must be 12pt, in Times New Roman (or any readable font), and centre the title.

✶ Do not include your name in the submission file. Anonymity ensures submissions are given equal opportunity.

poetry

✶ Submit up to 4 pieces in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format.
